Dos Santos, First Company in Las Palmas Province getting the Energy Saving Certificate (CAE)

Dos Santos becomes the first company in the province of Las Palmas to have a CAE certificate authorized, paving the way for the industrial sector in the province of Las Palmas. This achievement represents a breakthrough in energy efficiency and decarbonization of the industrial sector of the province in the archipelago.

The Dos Santos project has generated almost 1 GWh of CAE, which positions it as a benchmark in innovation and sustainability. In the entire autonomous community of the Canary Islands, since the creation of the CAE system, only 13 actions with a total of 8.8 GWh of CAEs had been registered, which further highlights the relevance of this milestone.

A Milestone for the Province’s Industry in the Canary Islands

The CAE system, promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, allows companies to certify and monetize their energy savings, promoting energy efficiency in strategic sectors such as industrial, tertiary and residential. According to the latest official data, the industrial sector accounts for 68.1% of the savings requested, consolidating its position as the main driver of this system.

This milestone demonstrates that industry in the province of Las Palmas and in the Canary Islands can not only compete in energy efficiency, but can also benefit from tools such as the CAE to reduce operating costs, improve competitiveness and contribute to the fight against climate change.
