Dos Santos has become one of the leading tobacco factories in Europe and a large part of this success is due, firstly, to the domestic market, where Dos Santos continues to be a reference brand for the Canary Islanders, but also thanks to exports, which have been particularly intensified over the last decade.

The company currently exports to different countries all over the world, including: Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Chile, China or Angola.

Dos Santos, in a new commitment to the Canary Islands industry, has signed an agreement with Philip Morris for the manufacture of 1.2 billion cigarettes at its facilities in Gran Canaria.

The project, which consists of 2 phases, will involve a total export volume of 36 million cigarettes and export to 12 EU countries.

The large scale of the project has been a real challenge for this family business of more than 100 years old, which has had to adapt the facilities with + 2000m2 of increased production area and +6000m2 of storage space. This increase has been carried out bearing in mind that this product category requires technified facilities that maintain its production quality. All the plant’s innovations continue to be adapted so that, at the same time, Dos Santos can maintain its commitment to environmental and sustainable development objectives.

In addition to the investment at plant level, Dos Santos will increase its workforce by +70 people, bringing the total number of employees to 184.
